Tennessee Governor Signs Constitutional Carry Bill

Effective July 1, Gov. Bill Lee has signed a bill allowing most adults in Tennessee to carry a handgun without the need for a permit. Tennessee will be the 20th state to pass a 'constitutional carry' aka permitless carry law.

The new law will allow adults over the age of 21 years to carry a handgun without a permit, either openly or concealed. It also extends to military personnel aged 18 to 20. It covers handguns only, not long guns such as rifles, shotguns, submachine guns and more.
