In a bid to curb violence among some of the state's most dangerous criminals, Tennessee has a new law that warns convicted felons to stop the violence or they face more time behind bars. As of July 1, a convicted felon caught with a gun will have to serve 85% of their sentence instead of the previous 30%. It is hoped this will serve as a deterrent to encourage better choices among convicted felons.
